Transmit

Transmit is my thesis collection, a philosophical exploration through the channels of transmission, where I endeavor to define transmission itself. In this intricate web, where the formless transforms into the tangible, I delve into the metaphysical exchange of thoughts, emotions, and essences between the intangible and the material. These connections, like threads of existence, weave the very fabric of reality, constantly shaping the contours of the world around us. I return to the source, contemplating transmission as the primal act of birthing from the void, a manifestation of creation emerging from nothingness. With transparent fabric and tubes as my flesh and veins, I sculpt these materials as instruments of transmission, embodying the invisible currents that flow through us all. Here, the unseen becomes manifest, and the internal flows outward, revealing the channels that connect us—silent pathways that bridge the metaphysical and the material, the known and the unknowable.

Completion of transmission

Process - Going back to the original starting point, there are three senses of transmission: information transmission, material transmission, and change transmission. Let these three converge using fertility as a symbol.

Look 1

My top is inspired by stage 1, combining sheepskin and silk prints to symbolize the transmission of invisible information beneath the human form. For the lower half, the TPU skirt features a seaplane design in red, initiating the flow of these transmissions.

Look 2

From the union of individual consciousnesses, consciousness produces behavior, just as the affection between a man and a woman develops into actual actions for physical transmission.

-
Upper body short behind and long in front . The tubes that encircle from the back extend

to the genitals, which is an indication of information to action consciousness.

Look 3

I am journeying along the path of transmission, where the formless transforms into the tangible, and the inner flows outward, seeking connections to carry each delicate pulse. With transparent fabric and tubes as my flesh and veins, I sculpt the essence of this unfolding process.

Look 4

This look draws inspiration from Stage 2 — the transmission status between the fetus and the mother.

Acrylic-filled tubes are inserted into the back panel, simulating the flow of blood. The protruding structure on the back represents the physical deformation of the maternal body during childbirth.

Blood vessel-like tubes wrap around the upper body, piercing through two layers of fabric at the front and extending to the chest — a metaphor for the act of nourishment.

On both sides of the hips, embedded silicone tubes incorporate extracted patterns that mimic the form of a developing embryo.

Look 5

The birth of life is the process of transforming all intangible things into entities. The feather is used to represent the new birth and the blood represents the sacrifice represented by the transmission process.

The feathers represent new materiality, while the blood signifies the sacrifice and pain within this

transmission. Embedded in the zipper at the back, the feathers pierce through the fabric,

symbolizing the breakthrough of new beginnings and the struggle inherent in creation.

P001 → The “human rights” of mannequins

We as a non-humanoid humanoid object. The things they endure make us think of these non-human rights behaviors, and we interpret the non-human rights behaviors of human beings from their bodies, the human platforms represent us, we destroy the human platforms, and the human platforms are us.

The NEST

In the quest for connection and belonging
within an empty society, individuals construct layers of
labels as protective shells, yet these superficial
exteriors, born out of hollow desires, ultimately
reveal vulnerability, leading to a cycle of casting
aside and searching for the next nest.

 P004 → White show-Central Saints Martins(UAL)

Excerpts from the Chinese myth of Journey to the West evoke the relationship between human beings and their desires, reinterpreting the true meaning of the protagonist, Tang Sanzang, as a monk in his quest for the Buddhist scriptures.  Is it about desire or supreme faith?  I reinterprets Journey to the West to create a new story conjecture Introducing the deeper meaning of Buddhism.  This involves merging Tang Sanzang as an avatar with the desires he bids farewell to on his path to enlightenment.  In Buddhist scriptures, the crane symbolizes the rebirth of Nirvana, with feathers representing the desire to transcend worldly desires, whether driven by yearning or pure faith.  I meticulously crafted 1324 pieces of feathers from white recycled suede, symbolizing myriad desires, with white serving as a representation of the journey towards holiness.

Inspired by Tang Sanzang, Journey to the West has never been a process of seeking Buddhist scriptures from the West. The person who became a Buddha was not him anymore. The real him had died on the way to the West.

P005 → Reincarnation of ego to superego

Disability can be understood as the manifestation of a fundamental lack or failure in the body-mind complex, which
results in a compromised ability to engage with the world. This lack or loss may take different forms, but it often involves disrupting the usual flow of bodily and mental processes that allows one to engage in everyday activities.

In the popular imagination, disability is often associated with fear or pity, as it represents a departure from the normative ideal of a fully functioning human being. For those who live with a disability, the quest for wholeness and completeness can be a powerful motivator. In seeking to compensate for what they lack, they often develop a deep appreciation for the value of different modes of experience and ways of being in the world. This can lead to heightened sensitivity and awareness due to the lack of body parts; the heart of the disabled is the purest and most fragile because what they seek is just an experience of being a completely living
body

Ultimately, the experience of disability can be transformative, as it forces one to confront the limits and possibilities of the body and mind and to develop a unique sense of self that transcends conventional notions of ability and disability. When one finds a way to live fully and authentically despite these limitations, they may experience a profound sense of rebirth and liberation as their reincarnation of ego to superego.
